In this Per Cent for Art project in Merlin Woods School, Ted Turton and I have developed a creative drawing, science and heritage programme which focusses on the local Merlin Park Woods. During the workshops the children, drew from observation, experimented with different mark-making and materials and responded to the gathered natural material.

MOSAICS WORKSHOP

As part of a Per Cent for Art project, the pupils in 5th and 6th Class each made their own mosaics. Learning the traditional rules about ‘andamento’ the placement and rhythm of positioning the pieces, in particular focussing on the keystone shape.
